Cocaine seizures in Central and South America, combined with two seizures of 300 kilograms of cocaine in Chicago contributed to a shortage of cocaine in the Chicago area.  There is reason to believe traffickers may be taking advantage of the press reporting these sizeable seizures to boost prices and creating a down fall in the usage of cocaine in Illinois.
